Bay leaf is native to the Mediterranean although widely cultivated in North America, Central America, India, Russia, France, Italy, Turkey, Spain, as well as Mexico. For cooking, bay leaves can be used to flavor vinegars and pâtés, as well as marinades. The Recipe is as Follows: 

Ingredients: 

5 bay leaves 

1 pinch of cinnamon powder 

2 cups of water 

Lemon and honey (optional) 

Instructions: 

Step 1: Wash the leaves and in a saucepan, bring water to boil. 

Step 2: Add the bay leaves as well as the cinnamon powder to a mug. 

Step 3: Turn off the heat and add the boiling water to the mug letting it seep with a plate over the mug to maintain the heat.

Step 4: Add any desired sweetener as mentioned above (optional).
